Energy Impact $1750 Rebate

Huge rebates to help you save 15% or more on your energy use

Energy Impact Illinois, along with your local utility, is providing rebates to help lower your energy bills, make your home more comfortable and more valuable. For a limited time, home owners can save 70%, up to $1750*, off the most cost effective and permanent energy efficiency improvements: air sealing and insulating your home. Better yet, we've taken all the paperwork and guesswork out and made the process easy.

1) Call to set up an appointment: 1-855-9-IMPACTWe will connect you with an energy efficiency contractor that has met our high standards. They will perform an energy assessment on your home, using sophisticated equipment and years of experience to uncover precisely which energy improvements will be most effective. Normally, this service costs $400 or more, but for a limited time, it's only $99.

2) Get an energy analysis and cost estimate. Once the assessment is complete, the contractor will provide an estimate for air sealing and insulation – and other improvements that might be useful. Again, you save 70% (up to $1750) off the cost of the air sealing and insulation, and we have attractive loan options if you want to finance the rest of the cost or go beyond basic energy efficiency.

3) The contractor completes the work. We handle all the paperwork and ensure the work was done correctly and safely. You’ll start seeing the savings and feeling the comfort.

Why air seal and insulate? Over half of your total energy costs come from heating and cooling your home, and almost all homes (even new ones) let too much air escape or penetrate. It’s like turning on the AC in the car with your windows rolled down. Air sealing solves this problem. Also, most homes have incorrectly installed or insufficient amounts of attic insulation. You wouldn’t brave a Chicago winter without a hat, and neither should your home.

What does it cost? The cost for our recommended basic energy upgrade varies based on the characteristics of each home, but the average cost before the rebates was approximately $2500.  With $1750 of instant rebates, the final cost to the homeowner would be only $750.

Are you eligible for the rebate? If you have service from Peoples or North Shore Gas, or are a Nicor Gas and ComEd customer, you are likely eligible - call us to confirm*. You must own a single family home or 2-4 unit building to be eligible. Act now to take advantage of the limited time rebates to keep your home cooler this summer and get it ready for winter.

Make comprehensive improvements and save even more. If your costs (after the rebates are applied) are over $2500, you can take advantage of loans with 0% interest for 12 months, and only 7 - 8% interest for the remainder of the loan period. Energy Impact Illinois is partnering with several local banks and credit unions to provide access to these energy efficiency loans, which eliminate the upfront cost and allow you to repay over a longer period. The savings on your energy bill will help offset the loan payments. All of our financial institutions will offer unsecured loans with minimal paperwork and quick approvals. Secured loans for larger amounts may also be available.
