Learn about the $1000-$2000 rebates and
other homeowner benefits of this program
!

The state of Illinois is undertaking an energy conservation initiative aimed at single and multi-family homes. Illinois Home Performance, (IHP), is the administrative organization for this DOE grant-funded project. With the City of Rockford being the launch site for this energy efficiency rebate program this spring, IHP plans to add more qualifying Chicagoland areas throughout 2012.

Only energy audits and home efficiency improvements that are performed by a registered IHP contractor can qualify for the rebates. Depending on the percentage of energy that will be saved, rebates range from $1000-$2000.

1: Create your energy profile by taking the free online survey
Input basic information about your home to generate a home energy report and prioritized list of improvements. Send in the contractor request form and we will send you contact information for qualified and vetted contractors in your area.

2: In-home energy assessment
Your energy analyst will interview you and review your home energy profile. Next, he or she will use specialized equipment, including a blower door, to identify hard-to-detect issues such as missing insulation and areas where air leaks in and out of your home. You'll receive a comprehensive work order unique to your home, explaining how to fix comfort and safety issues and stop wasting energy!

3: Get the work done right
Once you decide to undertake the improvements outlined in the work order, your Illinois Home Performance contractor will make sure the work gets done right according to the latest building science principals.   What's more, before leaving your home the contractor will perform the diagnostic tests again, verifying everything was installed properly.

4: Quality assurance
Illinois Home Performance provides third-party quality assurance testing on all participating contractors. All contractors are held to rigorous standards, resulting in better work and improved customer satisfaction.

5: Results
Participating in Illinois Home Performance means you are able to earn an IHP Certificate of Completion highlighting your home improvements and energy savings - perfect for showing off to your neighbors! When it's time to sell your home, this documentation will be helpful in explaining the improvements you've completed. What's more, you'll be able to enjoy a safer, more comfortable, more efficient home every day.
