Glenview Builders Are Batting a 1000 when it comes to Blower Door Tests

Since Glenview implemented the Illinois Energy Conservation Code which requires blower door testing, Priority Energy has been the leading testing company in the area when it comes to blower door and duct testing.

While we found builders in the community initially resistent to the mandated air tightness testing, and results were a little higher than allowed, many builders have worked with Priority Energy to tighten their homes over time.  Many of the areas builders have chosen to work with Priority Energy to not only perform blower door testing for them, they have also worked with us to help them find ways to improve the homes they are building.

The average for Gleview home has hovered just over 3.56 ACH50, but please take a look at how Glenview test results have evolved over time, and as always we like to give credit where credit is due - we will be on the look out for Gleview tightest homes.  Currently that honor belongs to Orchard Glen Homes, who was able to complete a home in 2015 that came in at 2.56 ACH50 - nearly half of what is allowed!

  • I just wanted to send this message to all you and say GREAT JOB!  We had a rough inspection today and passed for the Woodward Ave. house. The inspector told us "if every house I inspected looked like this one I would be out a job".

  • We were so impressed with the amount of information the Priority Energy technicians gave us during our ENERGY AUDIT.  If you are buying a house, I would strongly recommend having them do an energy audit on it, in addition to your usual home inspection.
